safeTALK is a half-day alertness workshop that prepares anyone, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper.
Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t truly want to die, but are struggling with the pain in their lives. Through their words and actions, they invite help to stay alive. safeTALK-trained helpers can recognise these invitations and take action by connecting people with life-saving intervention resources.
safeTALK is an internationally recognised course, suitable for people working in Mental Health, AOD, Education, Community Services and Health as well as community members who want to help create a suicide safer community.
SafeTALK sessions are limited to a maximum of 30 people and are safe places to enable you to develop your skills in having conversation that may save lives.
At Connection and Wellbeing Australia (CAWA), our focus is on providing training and support to work towards our vision of a suicide safer community. CAWA is a Social Enterprise offering a number of training packages for individuals, organisations and professionals including safeTALK suicide awareness training, ASIST suicide intervention training, and other specialist mental health and wellbeing training. www.connectionandwellbeing.com.au
