SafeTALK is an alertness workshop that prepares anyone over 15, regardless of prior experience/training, to become a suicide-alert helper.

About this Event

Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t truly want to die, but are struggling with the pain in their lives.

SafeTALK is a 3 Hour suicide prevention alertness workshop that prepares anyone over the age of 15, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper.

Workshop features:

• Presentations and guidance from a LivingWorks registered trainer

• Access to support from a local community resource person

• Powerful audio-visual learning aids

• The simple yet effective TALK steps: Tell, Ask, Listen, and Keep Safe

• Hands-on skills practice and development.

COST: $35 (value $120) supported By Bethany Healing Foundation Inc

FACILITATOR: Keith Todd:- Keith has over 25 year’s experience in suicide prevention. He is the co founder of the Bethany Healing Foundation (BHF), a local not for profit commited to supporting the most Vulnerable in the community. BHF provides a variety of services including training and support in a range of areas including suicide prevention and promotion of good mental health .

Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t truly want to die, but are struggling with the pain in their lives. Through their words and actions, they send invititations for help to stay alive. SafeTALK-trained helpers can recognize these invitations and take action by connecting them with life-saving community intervention resources.

Since its development in 2006, safeTALK has been used in over 20 countries around the world, SafeTALK-trained helpers are an important part of creating suicide-safer communities helping to identify, avert suicide risks and support people to get other proffesional help.
