Safeguarding the Integrity of Sport Forum - Northern Territory
Monday, 1 June 2015 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm (ACST)
SAFEGUARDING THE INTEGRITY OF SPORT
The integrity of sport is being challenged from multiple directions. From doping, to match-fixing, to the use of supplements and image enhancing substances. In this free forum you will learn about the latest challenges facing sub-elite sport from some of the country's leading experts.
Play by the Rules is a national initiative that promotes safe, fair and inclusive sport. Play by the Rules is partnering with the Australian Sports Commission, the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) and the National Integrity in Sport Unit to stage this special event focusing on issues that impact on the integrity of sport at a sub-elite level - specifically doping, match fixing and the use of supplements and image enhancing substances. The forum will focus on the ethical dilemmas facing sport around a range of key integrity issues and provide participants with a framework to use in addressing these in the future.
There will be opportunities for comments and discussions. Refreshments will be provided.
Who is the forum for?
The forum is aimed at decision makers and key people who work or compete at the sub-elite level of their sport. Also, if you have an involvement or interest in these issues and are concerned about their potential impact on your sport, then this is for you.
What are the benefits of attending?
You will hear and learn from some of the country's leading experts in their fields. You will have the chance to ask questions and participate in the discussions around contemporary issues that impact on the integrity of sport and leave with a framework tool to address ethical decision making in your sport. You will also get access to future resources and events on these issues, such as webinars and fact sheets.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, just bring some form of ID as we will have your registration on the day.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
While we can register people on the day we would prefer that all attendees have pre-registered under their correct name.
