About this event

This module has been created in response to requests from attendees at the Safeguarding Social Cohesion during Covid-19 workshops for more focused learning on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on communities.

This module will allow participants to better understand what their communities are experiencing, discuss research from other disasters about what works to support communities, and what action participants can take to support their clients, communities, staff, themselves and colleagues. This practical and interactive workshop is designed to introduce new knowledge, build confidence and provide participants with the opportunity to share and learn from one another.

Topics will include:

  • Understanding COVID-19: learning from other disasters
  • Best practice psychosocial support for your community
  • Collaborating strategically in disasters
  • Self-care strategies: looking after yourself so you can look after others
