The Department of Education and Training's Safe Schools Unit is hosting a one day training in Swan Hill to build the capability of schools to increase inclusivity and support for LGBTI students.

The training will be suitable for:

- Non-member schools (Government Secondary Schools, Prep to Year 12 & Special Schools with secondary aged students) - at least three staff members from the Principal class, Wellbeing & Engagement Leaders, Wellbeing support staff and PE/Health staff are encouraged to attend.

- Regional Office Staff (DET) - SSS, RR, Nurses, KESOs, KEKs, CLOs, PPL, Health & Wellbeing staff, SEILs, EILs and any other relevant staff.

- Community Service Providers - local providers who work directly with and support LGBTI young people

- Member Schools - some provision will be made for member schools who would like to reinvigorate work in this space or to champion work and share practice with other schools.

Training will begin at 10am sharp so please arrive at 9.30am to register and grab a cuppa.

Training will comprise of:

Safe Schools program and services
Research and policy context for the program
Case study examples of whole school approaches
Strategies to support sexual and gender diverse students
Taster of the ‘All of Us’ teaching resource
Opportunities for discussion
Workshop to implement the four – step program requirements to make a commitment to being a Safe School

Tea/coffee, morning tea and lunch will ber provided.

Schools can be provided with up to $600 CRT coverage after attendance.
