Please note: This event is held over four 90-minute twilight sessions on March 7, 14, 21 and 28. You must attend all four sessions.

An interactive professional development event to:

  • Explore the complexities of overlapping legal frameworks in child protection matters involving family violence
  • Achieve a shared understanding of roles in responding to family violence, and collaborate to improve outcomes for vulnerable families
  • Explore professional practice guidelines to respond to family violence and the challenges of implementation
  • Identify strategies to respond to family violence and work towards best practice within the Children’s Court of Victoria

This is a repeat of the Safe and Protected professional development event.

The twilight program is designed to accommodate those who are unable to attend the daytime event.

This workshop is designed for professionals working within the statutory child protection system:

  • Children’s Court Victoria staff, including the Judiciary
  • DHHS Child Protection workers and supervisors
  • Child Protection Litigation Office staff
  • Victoria Legal Aid and community legal sector lawyers
  • Private lawyers and barristers

Refreshments will be offered prior to commencement at 4.15pm

We advocate for the rights of women and their children and work with the legal, justice and family violence sectors to make sure women know about the law.
