SAFC Presents: Understanding Disability Equality Webinar
Event Information
About this event
Learn about the social model of disability and how you can best support the involvement of disabled people in the screen industry in Understanding Disability Equality, a special webinar for the South Australian screen sector from the South Australian Film Corporation.
Presented by SAFC Disability Screen Strategy Executive Gaelle Mellis, this one-hour interactive Zoom session will cover a range of topics to assist screen practitioners and businesses in working with Deaf and disabled people.
Topics covered in the webinar include:
- Understanding the Social Model of Disability, which doesn't see the individual as the problem and involves everyone identifying solutions for inclusion;
- Examining the barriers faced by disabled people in the screen sector;
- Questioning stereotypes, myths and misconceptions about disabled people;
- Making a commitment to change.
The free Understanding Disability Equality webinar is proudly presented by the SAFC as part of our celebrations for the International Day of People With Disability.
