FACCI – French Presidential Election – De-brief Business Breakfast – 10 May 2017
What does France’s new president mean for France and beyond?
Hot on the heels of Brexit and the US election, this year’s French presidential election has received significant global coverage and attention. Who will win, and what will that mean for France and outside its borders?
Please join us just 3 days after the second round of the French presidential election for an informative and lively panel discussion on the election result from a social, economic, cultural and political perspective.
Our panel draws together a select group from diverse disciplines of expertise:
Ms Chloë Fox – Secondary school French teacher, former journalist and former State Minister
Dr Ibrahima Diallo – Senior Lecturer in Francophone Studies and Applied Linguistics, Uni SA
Associate Professor Felix Patrikeeff – Senior Lecturer in International Studies, The University of Adelaide
Dr Romain Fathi – Lecturer, Flinders University; Associated Researcher, Centre d'Histoire de Sciences Po
Ms Jane Drake-Brockman, Director – EU Centre for Global Affairs, The University of Adelaide
The panel will be facilitated by Professor Pascale Quester – Deputy Vice-Chancellor & Vice-President (Academic), The University Of Adelaide
The panel will give their analyses of the campaign and prominent issues, and predictions on what to expect under the new president. What are the opportunities and risks? What does this mean for the relationship between France and Australia, and the EU?
We look forward to seeing you.
