'Round the World for Reilly 2020

Event Information

Event description

Description

‘Round the World for Reilly is the main fundraising and awareness building event for The Smiley Reilly Project.

Each year on the third Sunday in March, the ‘Round the World for Reilly event hopes to involve as many people in as many different locations as possible to walk, run, stagger, ski, cycle and stroll in memory of Reilly. Whilst the day is aimed at being one of remembrance, we also want it to provide people with an opportunity to reconnect with friends and family in a day of fun, love, sunshine and laughter, no matter where or how far the walk takes you.

There is no cost involved in participating in ‘Round the World for Reilly; however in lieu of an entry fee we hope you will consider making a donation. All monies raised go to The Smiley Reilly Project, whose aim is to provide support to families who have experienced the loss of a child. Donations can be made whilst completing the online registration form, or on our website.

We have a number of ‘Round the World for Reilly events already organised at a number of central locations in both Australia and New Zealand, or alternatively you can register your own event wherever you are. By registering your team, be it made up of you, the dog and the kids, or a group of friends or work colleagues, we can easily track how many participants and locations are represented on the day.

Want to do something different and need a little inspiration? Past events for ‘Round the World for Reilly include: a retro 80’s Aerobics class, a helicopter flight, trek up Mt Kosciuszko, snow shoveling… you’re only limited by your imagination. We’ve had solitary walkers, large groups and family events, in towns and cities, at the beach, in the desert, you name it. Each year Reilly’s mum and dad and his brothers, Flynn and Liam, join a group in Brisbane walking through the Botanic Gardens, and adding Brisbane to the ‘Round the World for Reilly map. Where will you be putting your mark?

So far our highest number of participants is 766 in 80 locations across 28 countries - let's see if this year we can take 'Round the World for Reilly to even more corners of the globe!!

Thank you in advance for your support, we're looking forward to seeing you on Sunday 15 March as we go 'Round the World for Reilly - a great day for a great cause!
