Recovery is an approach to mental health that values a person's strengths and works towards their goals. This workshop, run by the Mental Health Coordinating Council, provides an introduction to recovery-oriented practice. It will also cover the Recovery-Oriented Service Self-Assessment Toolkit (ROSSAT), a resource to help you put this approach into practice. This interactive workshop will enhance worker and organisational knowledge and skills through discussion and sharing of experiences.

During the workshop you will learn to:
• Use recovery-oriented practice to empower the people you work with
• Distinguish personal from clinical measures of recovery
• Support the leadership capacity of people with lived experience
• Use ROSSAT to assess and improve recovery-oriented practice in your organisation

The workshop will be facilitated by Julie Millard, who is a consultant and Mental Health Nurse who works with government and community-managed organisations in mental health education, community capacity building, resource development, project management, quality improvement and policy.
