Come down to Palace Cinema Westgarth on Monday 19 December to see Rogue One (A Star Wars Story) just days after its release AND support Girls Rock! Melbourne. You know you want to!
Why Rogue One I hear you say?
The new Star Wars films are working on improving gender equality in their main characters and also in their background characters, so more equal representation of women onscreen. This then leads to greater gender equality in the movie industry through actor hiring and the reason why Rogue One was chosen as the fundraiser screening film. Also STAR WARS!
You MUST book online via this site to contribute to the fundraiser. There will be no ticket sales on the night.
Screening will start at 6.30pm.
Girls Rock! Melbourne aims to empower young female, trans, and gender non-conforming youth aged 12 - 17 through music and education. In the space of a week (Monday – Friday), campers will form their own band, learn an instrument, watch live music performances, participate in creative workshops, and write an original song to be performed at the end of the week at a showcase. Our first camp will be held at Wick Studios in Brunswick and will run January 9 - 13th, 2017. The camper showcase will be held at Bella Union on January 14th, 2017.
All proceeds of this fundraiser will be put towards financial aid for camp participants.
