Event description

Description

Acute Rheumatic Fever (ARF) and its subsequent Rheumatic Heart disease (RHD) are a huge burden, particularly for Indigenous Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and some migrant groups. Currently, Australia has some of the highest documented rates of ARF and RHD in the world with >3800 Queenslanders requiring ongoing care. The RHD Surveillance Program QLD is a state-wide initiative to provide guidance and advice to facilities and offer valuable disease epidemiology and education throughout the state.
