Wiradjuri artist, Peta-Joy Williams will guide the kids as they paint their own totem rocks at The Grounds of Alexandria! They're sure to have a lot of fun creating a beautiful piece of art whilst learning about Aboriginal culture in the process.

PETA-JOY WILLIAMS
Peta-Joy Williams is a Wiradjuri woman, born in Sydney. With her feet firmly in both cultures, the inland and the salt water, she finds an affinity with both and draws inspiration from unique elements of two diverse nations.
Peta-Joy has been involved with the arts since her young school years. Painting Aboriginal art from pre-school with many pieces throughout her educational career being submitted into competitions. After high school, she went on to complete a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Art and Cultural Practices and a Diploma in Fine Arts. Peta-Joy currently teaches Wiradjuri at Eora College, facilitating art workshops and mural projects. She is the sold operator of The Wiradjuri Wave, creating custom Aboriginal artworks on sports paraphernalia and fashion.

BOOKINGS
This class will occur on Tuesday, 19 January in The Patio at The Grounds of Alexandria.
Reserve your child's place for $38 (+ booking fees) per person.
Please note that bookings are essential and places will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis, so please act quickly to make sure you don't miss out. This class will be held outdoors, undercover, with a maximum of 20 children in each session.

THE FUN
Each child who participates in this workshop will:
- Paint their own totem rock, using Indigenous painting techniques.
- Learn about Aboriginal culture.
- Take home their finished artwork.
- Receive a certificate at the end, congratulation them for all their hard work!

PLEASE NOTE
- Each class will run for approximately 1 hour.
- This workshop will be held outdoors, undercover, with a maximum of 20 children in each session.
- This class is suitable for children aged between 6 and 14 years. This is an approximation and we understand that every child has different levels of ability. You are the best judge if this activity is appropriate for your child.
- Please arrive at least 10 minutes before class and check in with our team in The Patio. Be aware that traffic and parking in the area can be challenging.
- This is not a drop off service. All parents are required to stay within The Grounds of Alexandria precinct at all times while their child is in class.
- Tea, coffee and treats can be purchased from The Grounds of Alexandria Cafe on the day. Please consider making an online reservation before your visit to avoid waiting.

COVID SAFETY
The health and wellbeing of everyone who visits The Grounds is our highest priority and as such, we've implemented a number of initiatives to help keep everyone safe.
- To monitor the number of people, you will need to make an online booking to attend this workshop. Sessions are strictly limited, so please book early to make sure you don't miss out. Unfortunately there will be no seats held for walk-in guests.
- If you or your child are feeling unwell, experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, have tested positive to COVID-19 or been to a COVID hotspot, please cancel your ticket or give it to a family member or friend and stay at home.
- As we have limited sessions, any requests for refunds must be made at least 24-hours prior to the class. Refund requests made within 24-hours of the class will not be considered.
- Please be careful to maintain proper social distancing measures during your visit to The Grounds of Alexandria.
- It is a requirement that all kids participating in the workshop use the hand sanitiser provided before entering The Patio.
- We are actively monitoring the advise of the NSW Government and Health Authorities. Ticket holders will be notified if this workshop must be cancelled by The Grounds and refunds / credits will be issued as necessary.
