Description

RMIT Social Work Presents World Social Work Day 2018 in Partnership with Unison Housing

Who Needs a Home?

The theme of this year’s World Social Work Day: ‘Promoting Community and Environmental Sustainability’ reminds us that our environment built, as well as natural, produces fundamental and enduring inequalities which as social workers and human service professionals we have a duty to address. This year in Partnership with Unison Housing we take as the theme of our annual Outrage! lecture questions of housing inequality and homelessness and ask key questions about social welfare practice and policy responses.

Speakers:

Jack Paton CEO Unison
Jenny Smith CEO Council to Homeless Persons
Spike, Homeless Persons Unit
Professor Guy Johnson and Dr. Juliet Watson, RMIT

Refreshments will be served afterwards. Please RSVP to secure your spot and to avoid disappointment.
