Event description

Description

RMIT would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations as the Traditional Owners of the land on which the University stands. We respectfully recognise Elders past, present and future.

Over the last two years RMIT has increased Indigenous visibility and presence at the RMIT City Campus. This has been based on the implementation of the RMIT Reconciliation Action Plan, launched in May 2016 and other factors such as, increased visibility of Indigenous culture.

Increased visibility of Indigenous culture can be a powerful force to encourage engagement and empowerment of people wanting to attend RMIT University. Including acknowledgement of what culture, place and connection to these elements has for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

These significant placemakers will be discussed during the tour which will encourage and evoke pride in our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and future as all Australians move towards a shared relationship and vision.

Meeting point for RMIT Indigenous Cultural Tour is Building 14 Media Portal on the Cnr Swanston and Franklin Street.
