The inaugural ride around Perth is a recreational ride from Betty’s Jetty (Elizabeth Quay) to Freo (Fremantle). Its about 25km, following the Swan River to Claremont, then heading to North Cott for a dip, crossing back to the River at North Freo before finishing in Fremantle.
A combination of bike paths where available, with some quieter roads through Dalkeith, expect the ride will take about 2-2.30 hours. But you are free to take any route and be as fast or slow as you like.
Open to all types of bicycles and attires, be they serious and fast, slow and colorful or any other combination. I’ll be riding an old Indi 500 ten speed and taking my bathers for a quick dip at Cottesloe.
Starts soon after 8am, meet at the west end of the Elizabeth Quay bridge.
NOTE: This is an unofficial ride with no support. Just people out for a ride together. All road rules apply. BYO everything.
