About this Event

Don't leave a tap dripping - Australia's feral camels

Presented by Pamela Rajkowski OAM

History shows that it was the camel that enabled early white settlers to explore the Outback and that camels and their Afghani cameleers became part of Outback folklore. Unfortunately, 100 years on, wild camel numbers are now out of control and they form a serious threat to the environment.

Members of the Royal Geographical Society of South Australia are invited to attend this lecture as Pamela Rajkowski describes the history of the camel in the Outback and the challenges of trying to control such vast numbers of feral camels.
