Mycause has raised over $30 million for causes, with more than 1,500 charity partners and 130,000 users. Tania worked in marketing, finance, administration and publishing before starting mycause in 2007, and harnessed those important experiences to ensure mycause offers the latest in fundraising technology. The result is a simple, socially integrated platform for benefactors and beneficiaries to use for fundraising. Tania enjoys keeping fit on her bicycle and is passionate about her family, her business and, of course, good causes.
Daniel Flynn, Thankyou
When he was 19, Daniel discovered that 900 million people are without access to life-saving water. Meanwhile, Australians spend $600M each year on bottled water. In 2008, with a group of friends, Daniel launched Thankyou Water. Today the enterprise continues to fund vital water, food and hygiene and sanitation products. Daniel’s decision to leave university to launch Thankyou has been the right one, with more than $3M given to global projects so far. He recently won the Southern Region Emerging category winner at the 2015 EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards and this year Daniel also became a first-time dad to son Jedediah.
Kevin Ke, Hisense
Hear the story of Hisense Australia’s success directly from Managing Director Kevin Ke. Hisense Australia was established in 2006 as an Australian-based subsidiary of the headquarters in China. In only nine years, Hisense has established itself as a major player in the Australian appliance market. With Kevin at the helm, the business has grown five-fold during the last six years, with the Hisense refrigerator now one of the top four in its sector in Australia and the Hisense television among the top three in the Australian television market. A commitment to strong R&D underlies Hisense’s strong performance.
Matthew Khoury, LOKE Group
Matt Khoury has owned retail and hospitality businesses since he was a teenager. Before co-founding LOKE Digital, he learned about different cultures, ideologies and trends on his world travels. LOKE Digital created the first white-labelled, social based mobile loyalty product for Australian hospitality businesses and with millions of user engagements, Matt saw the opportunity to expand LOKE Digital’s mobile offering into payments. This enhances the way people interact and are recognised by traditional businesses. Aston Club is a mobile payment service that just needs your face and your name to work, using loyalty and location-based triggers while you’re instore.
