Event description

Description

Restricted and repetitive behaviours are a symptom of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Their presentation varies across children and are often misunderstood. These behaviours are often used to cope with the demands of the environment.

In this workshop we will explore the nature and function of restricted and repetitive behaviours. We will also discuss when to intervene and learn strategies how to teach alternate behaviours, and build play, social and communication skills.

The workshop is suitable for parents and carers of children with ASD and healthcare and education professionals.
