Restoring Wallacia's Wildlife Wonderlands! (Crossman Reserve)
Event Information
About this Event
Join Conservation Volunteers Australia, Western Sydney Airport and Penrith City Council as we work together to restore Crossman Reserve! This amazing 10 hectare Reserve is a significant ecological area, containing patches of River Flat Eucalypt Forest, an endangered ecological community found in Sydney. You will also find several gigantic gum trees scattered throughout the Reserve, which are estimated to be over 250 years old! These large trees offer invaluable habitat for possums, gliders and microbats and are in need of protection.
Over time however, this Reserve has become dominated by invasive weed species, including Privet and African Olive. Come and join us in removing these destructive species before they begin to impact on the extraordinary native flora and fauna found in the Reserve!
Why volunteer with Conservation Volunteers?
- Spend the day with like-minded people
- Work together as a community to conserve this beautiful bushland area
- Learn about the wide range of species that call Crossman Reserve their home
- No experience needed! We'll provide you with the skills and training on site.
- You'll also be treated to a FREE BBQ lunch as a reward for all of your hard work!
Please note:
For your safety, please wear long pants, a long sleeved shirt, a hat and fully enclosed shoes. Please also bring a bottle of water and your lunch. We will provide the rest!
Please meet us on site at 9:00am, on the corner of Park Road and Golfview Drive, Wallacia. Street parking available nearby.
