Description

Join like-minded volunteers from Habitat Brisbane, creek catchment groups, Land for Wildlife and Brisbane City Council's environment centres to celebrate your achievements in protecting, restoring and educating others about Brisbane's biodiversity.

This year's event will feature local Indigenous band, Yarwah, who are back by popular demand. Come with us on a tour of the Boondall Wetlands Bushcare site and enjoy a range of presentations on the history of these wetlands and mangroves.

Keynote speaker - Simon Warner

Simon Warner is the managing director of Brisbane’s software company Tactiv Pty Ltd and a current member of Regional Development Australia - Ipswich and West Moreton Committee. Prior to this Simon has held executive roles across a broad range of organisations including SEQ Catchments, Grainco Australia and the Port of Brisbane Corporation. Simon is a passionate supporter and advocate of the role individuals and the community play in natural resource management and the economic importance of good natural resource management and planning. Simon will discuss the importance of a collective approach to resource management and conservation.

Mangrove tour

Join the environment centres’ volunteers and learn about the magnificent mangroves and local history of Nudgee Beach. This tour will include an Ocean Stars presentation open to all ages.

Bus tour

Enjoy a tour of Boondall Wetlands Bushcare site to look at the bush care work being undertaken at this RAMSAR-listed site.
