Event description

Description

The University has organised for Rape and Domestic Violence Services Australia to deliver Responding with Compassion training for key frontline staff and first responders to attend.

The course is designed to assist frontline staff to respond appropriately when someone says 'I have been sexually assaulted'.

Spaces are limited - please register to confirm your place.

Email abbey.gibson@sydney.edu.au with any questions.

This training covers some confronting topics about violence and sexual assault and it is advisable to allow yourself some free time after the session to process the information, practice self-care or talk to someone. Please bear this in mind when booking into your session and try to avoid registering for a session immediately before you need to return a busy project or a teaching session. Anyone can be affected by this material. If necessary let your supervisor know that if you don’t return to the office immediately this time should be considered an important part of the training session.

Should you feel affected by the material and wish to talk to someone please call 1800 SYD HLP to access specialist help via the Employee Assistance Program (option 3 then choose option 4).
