One-day practitioner forum for Tier 1 Service Providers

About this Event

On account of the COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic and in the interest of public health and safety concerns, we have unfortunately had to make the decision to cancel both the Responding to Serious Risk and Sexual Assault: Tier One Practitioner Forums.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused, and hope you will understand the decision under these unusual and unprecedented circumstances.

While we are unable to deliver the forums and full program as planned, we will be hosting an online panel discussion with practice experts in the fields of family violence and sexual assault and invite you to register.

Webinar: Sexual Assault in the context of family violence: Working collaboratively in the COVID-19 context

Details: 10:00am – 11:30am Tuesday 19 May 2020

Cost: Free

Register: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_uTd5wULnTn-x5AJoE0C68A; spaces are limited to 100 attendees. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. Please note, this webinar will be recorded and distributed to the forum registration lists, and through DV Vic, CASA Forum and NTV members lists.

The panel is targeted to practitioners and aims to increase understanding of:

  • collaborative risk management (as outline in MARAM Framework), in the context of COVID-19.
  • consent and sexual violence in the context of family violence and how to identify and appropriately respond to victim-survivors presenting with experiences of sexual assault.
  • the impact of sexual violence on family functioning and children.
  • best practice approaches that involve tilting to the perpetrator.
