Non-price criteria are frequently used in government and non-government tedners to assist the buyer to assess the value-for-money that a business can offer when delivering contracts of every size.

Value for money is based on the principle of accepting a reasonably priced tender that offers the best overall outcome for a buyer in the long term, not necessarily the lowest price.

Value-for-money can be delivered in a broad range of areas, including:
