Event description

Description

Resilience is a one-hour documentary that delves in the science of adverse childhood experiences (ACE) and the birth of a new movement to treat and prevent the stress that is the consequence. The documentary explores how extremely stressful experiences in childhood can alter brain development and have lifelong effects on health and behaviour.
As experts and practitioners profiled in Resilience are proving, what is predictable is preventable. The documentary explores ideas and solutions with physicians, educators, social workers and communities who are striving to break the cycles of adversity and disease. This film is relevant to our understanding of the early life events that contribute to social exclusion including homelessness.

The film screening goes for 60 minutes and will be followed by a panel discussion.
