Description

Presented By:

Torsten Reiners

Abstract:

This talk will take the audience on a short tour to show projects that we have conducted in the Logistics and Supply Chain Group in CBS. We introduce our motivation to abandon slides for an authentic experience to train Occupational Health and Safety, using virtual reality simulations to show processes, and expand the toolkits accessible to lecturers in upcoming research projects. The presentation will take a look at some examples of how the industry is utilising virtual reality in the context of Logistics and Supply Chains.

About the Presenter:

Dr Torsten Reiners is interested in industry-related research with a focus on logistics and supply chain management topics. His research expertise is in quantitative methods, including the development of optimisation and simulation solutions for data-driven scenarios. He has applied his research in maritime container ports, fleet management, and process design with various international companies. Further, he explores augmented and mixed-reality simulations for health and safety training utilising emerging technology to immerse the trainee to experience dangerous and life-threatening situations.
