Construction productivity challenges and improvement strategies: An industry brainSTORM on the Gold Coast

The Centre for Comparative Construction Research (CCCR) will be addressing construction productivity challenges.
Hosted by the Optimization Productivity in Construction (OPiC), a research incubator of CCCR, OPiC’s mission is to research intelligent construction solutions, including a special interest in digital technologies that can be potential ‘game-changers’ for construction industry’s operations and performance.

The event will open with an address from keynote speaker Alex Waldren, National Director, Industry Policy, Master Builders Australia, followed by a discussion on the productivity challenges and improvement strategies.
This discussion will be led by industry practitioners and OPiC researchers, to ensure a multi-faceted perspective on the issues.

Keynote speaker: Alex Waldren

Alex leads industry and housing policy work, as National Director Industry Policy for Master Builders Australia. Key industry policy areas of focus for Master Builders include building regulation reform, education and training initiatives, housing and energy policy.

Alex represents Master Builders on the board of Livable Housing Australia (LHA), a not for profit company of industry and community stakeholders delivering best practice resources and training on accessible housing and supported disability accommodation design standards.

Alex has extensive experience in government as chief of staff and senior adviser to Commonwealth Government ministers.
