Introduction to Good Clinical Practice
22 February 2019

Seminar Synopsis:

Regular Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training is essential for all researchers. GCP provides ethical and scientific standards and guidelines by which all research is conducted.

This seminar covers key components of GCP including:

  • standards and guidelines
  • responsibilities
  • approvals
  • informed consent
  • documents and data management
  • safety reporting and reporting of adverse effects

Presenter: Natalie Barber, Head of Research Governance and Platforms at Telethon Kids Institute

After completing a degree in Biological Sciences in the UK, Natalie began her working life within the Pharmaceutical Industry within the disciplines of Data Management, Statistics and Pharmacovigilance.

After 10 years in this sector she moved into the NHS in the UK undertaking various roles within the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Networks. Starting out as Industry Manager, moving into a senior position within the core team as Research Management and Governance Manager to finally as manager of one of the Cancer Research Networks.

She moved to Australia during 2013 and is now responsible for the area of Research Governance and Platforms at the Institute which includes:

  • Team management of Research Platforms (Biostatistics, Bioresources, Clinical Research, Laboratories, Data Management and Data Services.)
  • Delivery of robust governance, compliance, safety, service delivery and training across all research operations and platforms to deliver an environment that is conducive to enable high quality research outcomes.

There are three ways you can attend the seminar:
