Getting the most out of Research Supervision
Tips for students and supervisors

Seminar Synopsis:

Whether you are doing research for a formal degree or a small project, this seminar will help you navigate your rights and responsibilities of being a supervisor or a supervisee, and how to get the best out of both roles.

This seminar will cover practical tips related to the selection of suitable research projects, supervision frequency and time allocation, different supervision styles, remote supervision and working with multiple supervisors.

Presenter: Professor Jonathan Carapetis AM

Professor Jonathan Carapetis is Director of the Telethon Kids Institute and a Professor at UWA. His research interests include rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease, other group A streptococcal diseases, vaccine preventable disease, Indigenous child health, youth health and education, and skin sores and scabies. He has supervised 42 PhD, Masters, Honours, Clinical Trainees and others in research.
