Event description

Description

As you plan for research outcomes that have an impact you should think about the stakeholders and possible end users of your research. They want to be assured of your integrity and highly upheld values of responsible research. Many funders now require plans for the management and dissemination of data from your research. Managing your data and carefully considering why it is important to plan, share, annotate and archive will yield the best outcomes for you, for people who wish to collaborate with you and for the beneficiaries of your research.

In this session you will understand how research is enriched through discoverable research data; why repeatable, reproducible, reusable, replicable data is an asset; and why creating a plan to manage your research data from the outset increases your efficiency, broadens your reach and your research opportunities and importantly ensures your integrity.

The practical planning considerations for guiding the start of your thesis related research here at ECU will also be covered.

Facilitated by Dr Agi Gedeon, Research Data Consultant at the Australian National Data Service, based at ECU
with Research Services Librarians at ECU

This session is also a lecture in unit PRO6000 - Research Project 1.
