Rerun - Ethical Fashion Workshop - Meet The Mender - Erin Lewis-Fitzgerald
Event Information
About this Event
Do you have clothes with stains, holes or rips and don’t know how to fix them? Professional mender Erin Lewis-Fitzgerald, author of the book Modern Mending and shopkeeper at modernmending.com, will be dishing out personalised mending advice to help you get started in this fun online event.
To get advice on your item of clothing, send a clear 'before' photo to info@gcwwrrg.vic.gov.au by COB 2 November 2020, and include a short written description that includes what the item's made of (e.g. wool knit)(photo of tag) and how the damage occurred.
The most helpful ‘before’ photos:
• are in focus
• are shot in good light on a plain background
• have context so you can tell what the item is (e.g. a shirt) and where the damage is (on a seam or near a pocket)
If the item is dark, safety pins placed near the damage can help, or try inserting a piece of paper behind the hole or rip to make it more visible.
If you don't have clothes that need mending (lucky you!), you're welcome to watch and learn.
