Description

Fauna Rescue of South Australia Inc. invites you to join us for our upcoming KANGAROO WORKSHOP being held on SUNDAY, 18 March 2018.

Our workshops are open to existing and prospective Fauna Rescue SA members and the general public. New Member Orientation Workshops are compulsory for all new members and Species Workshops are compulsory for all members wanting to be carers.

Workshops are a good opportunity to meet other members.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
The reptile workshop is designed to give new carers and rescuers a general understanding of lizards and turtles, common reasons for coming into care, treatment plans as well as basic husbandry and housing requirements. The workshop will consist of both theory and practical components with a chance for attendees to handle live reptiles. The workshop will cover -

  • Permits and classifications of reptiles
  • Common reptile species
  • How to safely rescue reptiles
  • Handling of reptiles
  • Physical assessment of reptiles
  • Common injuries and problems
  • Housing and husbandry
  • Diet and Feeding

FAUNA RESCUE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
To support the rescue, rehabilitation, preservation and/or release of native wildlife;
To contribute to the prevention of undue suffering to all wildlife;
To provide information to members and the community regarding the care and welfare of native wildlife;
To assist in the release of rehabilitated native fauna back into the wild from near where they were found whenever appropriate; and
To do all such things incidental to the attainment of the objectives of the Association.

THE VENUE & PARKING:
The venue has limited seating so please book a place if you are attending.

Located in the RSPCA Training Room, 16 Nelson Street, Stepney. Parking is available adjacent to the side entry door or on Nelson Street. The RSPCA requests that rear parking spaces are left for RSPCA staff, and that workshop attendees enter through the side door and not the front door.
