This Professional Learning day is hosted by Swinburne University of Technology, in partnership with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA).
This workshop has been devised for teachers of Applied Computing VCE Units 1 and 2 preparing for 2020, and will be hosted by Associate Professor Therese Keane, Deputy Chair Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships at Swinburne and Phil Feain, Curriculum Manager, Digital Technologies, VCAA.
What you’ll learn
You’ll explore Applied Computing VCE Units 1 and 2, building your capacity to plan courses and improve your skills in creating relevant assessment tasks. You’ll also tour and discuss the “Innovation solutions outcome” at our Factory of the Future.
What you’ll be doing
• 8.30am – Registration
• Session 1 – Introduction to why Applied Computing is important
• Morning tea (provided)
• Session 2 – Unit 1 Developing a course, activities, exercises
and assessment tasks
• Lunch (provided) plus lab tours
• Session 3 – Unit 2 Developing a course, activities, exercises
and assessment tasks
• 3.30pm – Finish
Please note: There will be no cost as places are funded, however this is a capped event so register early to avoid disappointment!
Enrolment is limited to 2 teachers per school and registrations will only be accepted using authorised school emails.
