Event description
Professor Marcus Foth from QUT will deliver an insightful talk on Relational Thinking in Media Architecture.

About this event

Archis’ VOLUME magazine issue 59 (June 2021) is dedicated to the launch of the 2021 Media Architecture Biennale (MAB) and its theme, “Futures Implied.” In it, the editors-in-chief Francesco Degl’Innocenti and Arjen Oosterman interview Professor Marcus Foth from the QUT Design Lab on the topic of Relational Thinking in Media Architecture. The interview was inspired by a paper co-authored with Assoc. Prof. Glenda Caldwell presented at the last edition of the Media Architecture Biennale in 2018, which sparked a debate that significantly influenced this year’s conference: More-than-Human Media Architecture.

The Design Lab in the School of Architecture, Design and Planning at The University of Sydney has invited Prof. Foth to give a talk and present some of his thoughts on the theme of relational thinking in media architecture and the field of design research more broadly. This talk forms part of the Australian chapter of the Media Architecture Biennale. The talk is also sponsored by the ACM Distinguished Speakers Program.
