Regional Voice Workshop - Kangaroo Island Individual and Team Resilience
Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity, and team resilience refers to the ability of the workgroup or team to get through difficult times, deliver what is needed and, remain positive and productive.
This workshop will examine our bodies stress response, and how this biological reaction to stressful events can impact on us both mentally and physically. The workshop examines how we can identify the stress response in our own behaviours and in others, and examines how individuals can help themselves to be more resilient during stressful times.
This workshop also explores how employers can address the needs of staff with family who have personal or family stressors by implementing work based strategies to promote resilience. Workplace strategies that recognise and support workers through stressful life events allow them to remain and contribute to the workplace as a part of a resilient team.
Workshop presenter: Dr Moira Jenkins, Psychologist
Dr Jenkins is the Director of ‘Aboto’ Psychology and Workplace Conflict Management Services. She is also an Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Adelaide.
