Refugee Week Event - Healing through cultural performances and sharing food
Date and time
Everyone is welcome to join us celebrate achievements of refugees and asylum seekers in their journey to Australia and their contributions
About this event
This event is part of the National Refugee Week celebrations and is organised by a range of participating refugee and asylum seeker communities.
It will be an opportunity to hear from community leaders telling us their stories and about their communities. Community members will perform and provide samples of their community’s favourite foods. There will be items for sale.
Representatives of organisations that assist refuges and asylum seekers will be there to provide information about their services.
Registration will be necessary to guarantee entry, as places are limited. Please register early - not later than 10 June to help us with our planning. We are getting lots of enquiries.
Further information: communitytributaries@gmail.com; 0491 138 022.
This event is free. It is sponsored by Jemena, the community friendly energy company that provides electricity and gas to many Melbourne households and businesses, as well as the City of Moreland which is a Refugee Welcome Zone.
