Venantie Niragira, Bicultural Worker, AMPARO Advocacy – Refugee communities’ perspectives around disability
Dr Christine Phillips, GP and Chair of Refugee Health Network of Australia - A clinician’s perspective and learnings from NDIS
Followed by: Panel Q & A discussion facilitated by Dr Rachel Claydon, Qld Refugee Health Fellow
Learning Outcomes:
- Discuss considerations in caring for patients from a refugee backgound with a disability
- Appropriately manage patients of refugee background participating in the NDIS
- Identify key resources available to support patients and families from refugee backgrounds with NDIS
- Identify best practice processes that can facilitate culturally safe care
