Reflecting on Life and Death: Film + discussion on end of life matters
Event Information
Description
You are invited to join us for an afternoon of conversation and reflection about the big things in life on November 29th at the beautiful Bondi Pavilion.
Reflecting on Life & Death will screen the documentary 'Love in Own Our Time' followed by a panel discussion with director Tom Murray and Palliative Care physician Dr Frank Brennan who features in the film.
We are delighted to announce Kath Skinner, Director of Palliative Care-NSW from the Silver Chain Group will also be joining us on the panel. Silver Chain is the largest provider of palliative care services in Australia and has been supporting patients and their families to die at home for more than 30 years. In WA more than 65 per cent of all clients who were receiving home based palliative care were supported to die at home. Silver Chain is now providing their innovative palliative care services across NSW.
Love in our own Time is a documentary on the big things in life – birth, love, and death – illustrates the immensity of what it is to exist: to live, to love, and to die.
Holding a 21st century mirror to who we are, the film follows ordinary Australians, bearing witness to lives beginning and ending, and capturing moments, both simple and sublime, that compose the lives we lead.
This is a journey to the heart of what it is to be human, giving us pause to question the lives we lead.
