Do you have clothes that need repairing, fixing up or adjusting but not quite sure how to fix them or if you're on the right track? Need a second opinion about a mending project you're working on? Online vidoes not quite cutting it helping you with your project?
Slow fashion and keeping clothes in use for longer is what we're all about at The ReDress Hub and sometimes we find that people enthusiastically undertake a mending or restyling project but get stuck, usually because they're just not sure how to take it further and it just stays in that mending pile... and another piece of clothing is bought to take its place. Doh!
So we're here to give you a helping hand and some advice from people who probably have the expertise you're after.

Come along to The ReDress Hub for their RePair Cafe on Saturday morning to help you with your project.
We're going to be here during the RePair Cafe time for you to drop in when it suits you with your mending or restyling project. We'll give you some advice and you can continue to work on it with us at The ReDress Hub.
We have most of the things you'll need such as sewing machines, scissors, basic coloured threads and an assortment of knitting and crochet equipment. And we'll be by your side if you get stuck again, but just to be clear we're not going to repair it for you, this is still up to you!!
We'll also have some coffee/tea and snacks if you need a short break or if you want that barista-style coffee there are plenty of options within a hop, skip and jump. : )
We'd love it if you prebook a ticket to attend so we get an idea of numbers but we're also open for you to drop by and pay for your ticket on the spot.
What to bring:
- Your mending project, either started or an idea for the project.
- Any materials that are specifically needed for the project: for example a matching button, a specific coloured cotton thread, the knitting needles or crochet hook you're using, the fabric you have chosen to match or style with your clothing
- If you have a zip issue, these can be tricky to mend ...so we advise that if this is your issue that you also have advanced sewing skills
- An open mind and enthusiasm for 'giving it a go'!
