Description

How can we work together to better support vulnerable migrants?

Australian Red Cross invites you to a free event, Red Talks: Migration Matters, where Sami Shah will lead a panel discussion highlighting the challenges that newly arrived migrants including refugees and asylum seekers face in accessing vital services in Australia. The panel will focus on the needs of those who have been cut off from basic support due to their stage in refugee determination process and explore possible solutions.

Sami Shah is a comedian, actor and broadcaster who has been profiled in the New York Times, ABC’s Australian Story, appeared on BBC, TEDx, The Project, and QI with Stephen Fry. Sami wrote and performed a 2-part series for BBC Radio 4 – A Beginner’s Guide to Pakistan, and his autobiography, I, Migrant, has been nominated for the NSW Premier’s Literary Award, and the Russell Prize for Humour Writing.
