This two-day workshop focuses on the development of clinical reasoning in relation to the detection of non-musculoskeletal disorders presenting within the Musculoskeletal clinic through a perspective of ‘Systems Thinking’. Andrew discusses the utility of Red Flags and how to incorporate these alongside ‘Systems Thinking’ to aid clinical reasoning. There is a focus on Serious Spinal Pathology throughout the day however, peripheral presentations are also discussed.
Alongside development of reasoning, clinical decision making within an appropriate governance structure to ensure the correct investigations are carried out by the appropriate clinician in the appropriate setting, thus ensuring the right patient is seen by the right person at the right time.
Jack will also cover the recognition of Rheumatology and Systemic Inflammatory Disorders; following recognition the appropriate immediate management, investigations and onward referral as well as the required Physiotherapy management of such presentations .

Andrew Cuff BSc (Hons) MSc SRP MCSP
Andrew is a Consultant Physiotherapist within Community MSK Services for Connect Health. Alongside his clinical role, he is an active researcher and lecturer, studying for a PhD at Keele University. He has previously published on Musculoskeletal examination procedures.
Jack March BSc (Hons) SRP MCSP
Jack is Rheumatology Clinical lead for Chews Health and a Specialist Physio in Orthopaedics in the NHS. Alongside his clinical roles he provides CPD seminars on recognising Rheumatology, has written for the Physio First Journal InTouch and is part of The Physio Matters Podcast Team.
