Chatswood Chase Sydney is proud to be hosting a series of interviews with a selection of Australia's most talented men of stage and screen.

Join cabaret performer, fashion stylist, MC and entertainment presenter, Susie Smither for a series of interviews with some of Australia’s most talented performers. The series of interviews will be held each Wednesday during March at 11am. These inspiring interviews will delve into the lives and careers of this sparkling mix of Australian Men in Entertainment with a few surprises along the way.

Frankie J. Holden was born in 1952, the same year as the FJ Holden was first manufactured and during the course of his diverse career he has become as much an icon as his automotive namesake. Frankie J. Holden began his show business career with the legendary rock group OL’ 55, one of the most successful Australian recording acts of all time, and has gone on to be recognised as one of our most versatile and popular performers.Frankie has created some of Australian television’s most memorable characters through leading roles in long-running serials: Embassy, Police Rescue, Round The Twist, Something In The Air, Underbelly and A Place To Call Home. He has also played guest roles in virtually every drama and sit-com on Australian television.

He has appeared in over thirty films both here and overseas, beginning with The Odd Angry Shot in 1979. His film work includes High Tide, Evil Angels, The Big Steal, Proof, Hammers Over The Anvil, Return Home and Clubland. In 1990 Frankie was awarded Best Actor in a tele-feature by both the Australian Film Institute and the Australian Television Society for his performance in Police Crop, as an honest man fighting corruption in the Federal Police Force.

The 1989 film Return Home earned Frankie an AFI Nomination for Best Performance in a Feature Film. Frankie was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in the 2007 AFI Awards for his work opposite Brenda Blethyn in Clubland.

In 2019, he won a Silver Logie for 'Most Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role' for his work in A Place To Call Home.

In theatre, Frankie has toured with The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas (1981), The Rocky Horrow Show (1992), and Grease (1994). In 1995 Frankie joined The Melbourne Theatre Company for their 40th anniversary production of the classic Australian play Summer Of The Seventeenth Doll, directed by Robyn Nevin, to public and critical acclaim . In 2001/2, Frankie toured Australia in the Nick Enright play Daylight Saving, and in 2003 worked with Glynn Nicholas and Peter Rowsthorn in Certified Male. Recently, he appeared in Sydney and Melbourne in the MTC production of David Williamson’s Don Parties On, again directed by Robyn Nevin.

Frankie is also a very experienced and successful television presenter. From 1993 to 1996 he was part of the team roaming the globe for the Channel Seven show The Great Outdoors. For three years, from 1996 to 1999, he hosted his own live variety programme In Melbourne Tonight for the Nine Network.

Frankie co-hosted with his wife Michelle, What's Up Downunder, a family travel show on the Ten Network from 2008 to 2014.

Currently, Frankie can be seen as Ian Shaw in Home & Away, the top rating Australian drama, on the Seven network.

Frankie is also much in demand as a corporate speaker and entertainer.

In 2016 he was awarded the Order Of Australia Medal for his service to entertainment and for services to the South Coast of NSW.
