Event Details

Ever thought about creating your own garden stool or timber masterpiece but stopped because you were not sure where to start or how to use the tools? Well this workshop is for you.

Over four hours, you will recreate your own piece of timber furniture, from scrap timber, for you to take home and enjoy for years to come.  You will learn the basics of carpentry construction and be taught how to use different tools and how to select the right tool for the job. We supply all the tools, personal protective equipment, timber and nails / screws for you to create your piece to take home with you.

Once you have done this workshop you can use these skills to continue with upcycling, repairing and createing at home and help keep reusable scrap timber and furniture out of landfill and giving it a new life.

Workshop is open to Blacktown Council residents only. Places are limited and booking is essential.

Safety Requirements:

  • enclosed shoes are essential
  • safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves and dust masks will be supplied on the day
  • hair tie for long hair
  • please consider appropriate clothing as you will be operating power tools
  • children are not permitted at this workshop

In the event of rain, this event will be cancelled for safety and rescheduled to a later date.
