Event description

Description

Join Hunter Early Childhood Australia again as we continue the conversations with our local Indigenous leaders. In this session we will extend on the ideas of Welcome/Acknowledgement of Country with children and embedding Indigenous perspectives into service practice.

The evening will begin with a bush tucker supper and the opportunity to learn the art of Indigenous weaving in a hands on session with local weaver Daniela Chedzey.

Following on, you will have the opportunity to ask questions for developing and maintaining authentic connections with the world’s oldest living culture, in a Q&A style panel discussion, with local Aboriginal leaders. We encourage you to consider questions would like asked of our panel, such as - Where is the best place to learn about Aboriginal Language? What art forms are unique to our lcoal area? What are some strategies we can use to improve our story-telling? What would the Aboriginal community like to see occuring in our services? The list is endless, so if you have a question, email us at jsalvador@lakemac.nsw.gov.au and we can try fit them in to the session.
