Event description

Description

Are you interested in exploring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander experiences in historical and contemporary settings through great books and stories?

If you haven't been to previous meetings, we invite you to join UQ’s Reconciliation Book Club.

The group has no political or religious affiliations and people from all backgrounds with an interest in engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander literature to expand their knowledge and understanding of current and historical Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander experiences, are welcome. We plan to meet and discuss a book that has relevance to Indigenous experience every 6-8 weeks in a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Our third meeting will discuss "Taboo" by Kim Scott - there are copies available in the UQ Library and additional copies can be found at the Brisbane City Libraries.

You can also find more information about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander literature and Kim Scott’s work, including Taboo, at AustLit: https://www.austlit.edu.au/UQReconciliationBookClub

Information and a UQ map to get to Duhig Tower is at https://web.library.uq.edu.au/locations-hours/duhig-tower
