Description

This training will equip managers and supervisors to recognise stress-related risks, contain and manage critical incidents as they happen and minimise harm to staff, clients and the organisation.

This workshop acknowledges the impact of workplace stress on the morale and wellbeing on staff and will provide practical, sustainable and achievable strategies for identifying responses to an incident, providing initial support, preventative techniques and resilience building.

Frameworks for Critical Incident Stress Management, Psychological First Aid and Stress Stocktakes will all be introduced.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand different types of stress in a workplace
  • Recognise risks
  • Contain and manage critical incidents when they happen
  • Minimise hardship to staff and the organisation
  • Provide initial support (Psychological First Aid)
  • Have an awareness of other components of the CISM Model and when to apply them

Who is this training suitable for?

Managers and supervisors who work in environments where stress, crisis and trauma may occur.

Suitable as a refresher or introduction for the accredited Critical Incident Response training (CIR)

What are my transport/ parking options for getting to and from the event?

Parking: There is local parking available in Turner St, Sackville St and Easey St; alternative parking is available off Lulie St (on the eastern side of the Railway line off Johnston St), adjacent to Victoria Park stadium. Please be aware of clearway zones during certain times of the day.

Public transport: We are a five minute walk from Victoria Park station (South Morang, Hurtbridge and Greensborough lines). Our office is also accessible from bus routes on Hoddle St (towards Richmond or Clifton Hill) and Johnston St (towards City/ Lonsdale St or Kew)

$395 - payable on credit card or invoice on request

Includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea (please specify dietary requirements on registration)

Participants will also receive a colour bound workbook

Cancellation Policy?

  • 14 days notice or more: no penalty
  • 8 – 13 days notice: 25% of total training fee
  • 3 – 7 days notice: 50% of total training fee
  • 48 hours notice or less: 100% of total training fee
