Will you join us, as we seek to encourage each other to continue Jesus’ work and train everyday Christians for God’s great rescue?
About this event
Sally Lloyd-Jones in her children’s Bible “The Jesus Storybook Bible” communicates a wonderful truth. She writes,
Jesus left the desert and set about the Great Rescue. He was going to get God’s people back… He had a lot to do. He would need some people to help him. Who would make good helpers, do you think? Clever ones? Rich ones? Strong, important ones? Some people might think so, but I’m sure you by now you don’t need me to tell you they’d be wrong. Because the people God uses don’t have to know a lot of things, or have a lot of things – they just have to need him a lot. One day, Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee when he saw some brothers and friends mending their nets. They were poor fishermen. Jesus called out to them, “Let’s go!”
Sally reminds us that God uses ordinary, weak people who trust Him to bring His people back. In recognition of this truth, Reaching Everyday People 2022 is focusing on training ordinary, everyday Christians, to make disciples of Jesus and lead Christian Ministries.
*By everyday people we mean those who have gone straight into the workforce from school. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics they make up 70% of Australians aged 15-64. (See https://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/products/D422D0160CA82AE8CA25750C00117DD1?OpenDocument)
