Description

Re-Search: State Library resources to support information literacy in schools’ will upskill educators in teaching effective research skills. This session will cover:

  • how to perceptively use State Library's comprehensive, wide-reaching catalogue, 'One Search'
  • maximising catalogue search features and refinements,
  • how to access key databases and e-learning platforms (such as Lynda.com, Press Reader and Kanopy, including tips and tricks specifically for teachers), and
  • empowering educators with an understanding of restrictions and freedoms around the use of e-resources and databases in the classroom.

This professional development workshop will take a Show and Do approach, providing you with time during the session delve into the showcased research tools.

What to bring: For the workshop component of this session you will require your own WiFi enabled device and a unit of work or assessment task that you need resources for
