Event description

Description

Over two days, Gallery152's artist in residence, Filomena Coppola will help you explore how to make dynamic, beautiful and provocative images of flowers. Beginning with observational drawings of flowers, you will learn how to develop complexity, personality and texture to create a new interpretation of the idea of the flower. This workshop will challenge traditional flower drawing/representation to create drawings which present contemporary and sometimes confronting outcomes.

Participants should have a love of flowers, drawing and creatively working with representation and ideas. No previous experience is necessary as play, discovery and discussion is encouraged.

Important note: you will work with charcoal and paper but participants are encouraged to bring any materials they prefer to use – pastels, pencil, coloured pencils, conte etc – preferably dry medium for the short intensity of this workshop.

Duration: 10am-2pm daily

Fee Options:
Tuition only: $450
Tuition + accommodation (shared): $550
Tuition + accommodation (private): $600

Fee includes tuition, materials, artist talk and dinner Saturday evening.

Accommodation: note onsite accommodation features shared bathroom/kitchen facilities. All linen provided but participants are advised to bring their own bathrobe.
