This familiarization session, for women only, is for those planning to ride the Rats Cycling Club Summer Sprints Round 1 event at Underwood Park 30/1/21.  We will show you the event course, where to enter the track lines and how to tackle the track obstacles. The whole idea of this course is to give you the confidence to ride in the event, whether this is simply to enter your first event or ride that A line that you have never found the courage to try.

We have 2 ticket types:

Beginner / C grade - I have not entered a MTB event before. I would like to give it a go but I am feeling unsure of how to approach the event. We will show you how to approach the event.

Intermediate / B grade - I have entered a MTB event before. I want to go faster by taking on the harder and shorter lines. We will show you these lines.

The course will be held over 1 x two-hour session at the Underwood Park MTB Skills Area and the adjacent the mountain bike trails.

Event numbers are limited so we encourage you to sign up early to avoid missing out.

FAQs

Is there an age limit to enter the course?

Yes, you must be a minimum of 18 years of age to attend or attend with your parent that is also enrolled in the course.

What do I bring to the event?

You will need the following:

• A well-maintained MTB with working brakes
• Water in a bottle on the bike or in a camelback
• Spares and tools
• A small amount of food (e.g. muesli bar)
• Closed in shoes
• Gloves
• Sunscreen applied
• Australian Standard Helmet that is well fitted
• Any Medication (e.g. Ventolin or Epipen)
• A thirst for fun

Do I need to have an MTBA licence for the event?

No, this is not required for this coaching session.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, we will have a list of all registered and paid participants on the day.

What is your refund policy?

Sorry, no refunds are possible however we now can facilitate a transfer to an alternate event for a small admin fee.

Transfers are available for whole courses only (not individual sessions.) and only before the event has started and are subject to availability of the chosen event and the cost difference between the two courses. 

What is your wet weather policy?

We monitor the weather each week in the lead up to the sessions. If the session is rained out we will reschedule another date to hold the session.
